Event Overload

Week 3: January 30th - February 5th
- Departmental Meeting (2hrs)
- Bake Sale Planning (4+ hrs)
- Watching Films (2.5 hrs)
- Blog (20 min)
- Class (6hrs or more)

I just really love event planning. I don't know what else to say about that. Some people really love spreadsheets.. I avoid them like the plague. I guess I've found my niche. That being said, I'm super nervous for the Bake Sale. I have planned it down to the second, and now all I can do is wait until it gets here. The snow storm turned out to be a blessing in disguise because I was trapped inside a house for three days with nothing to do except plan. That gave me time to run everything through my head over and over and make sure I didn't leave anything out. It also gave me time to talk with other people and share ideas that can make it run smoother.

I think I read every "how to" article on the internet that was related to this type of event. There was a lot of repetition which is a good sign, because it means that people have a general understanding about how it works, and the more transparency there is the more people feel inclined to participate. (Apparently I'm weird in wanting to try new things all the time?) Any ideas that seemed to be out-of-the-box I wrote down and tried to include. As much as people like the familiar, they don't like the boring. I think the step&repeat and the Instagram contest will add a creative aspect to it that will be really fun and allow more people to participate.

From this point all we can do is pray and bake. Here goes!
